This is our last week of Finishing Strong for this school year. We’ll start back up in August. Today I’m sharing some of my favorite summer time posts as we head into the summer homeschool season!
Many of us have gardens, but some are intimidated by the thought. Even a small container garden can demonstrate many science concepts throughout a growing season. Simple observations and field exercises will give your students plenty of scientific experiences. Read on to find out how!
Have you ever done a Writer’s Workshop with your kids? It’s the best way to get kids into the mindset of a writer. The writing is no longer homework but real writing they share with others in the group. This post is all about hosting your own family workshop (or it could be with peers) using a variety of fun activities.
It is so tempting to offer prizes for summer reading, but I want to challenge you to think differently about kids and reading. I have found the most success with engaging with my kids and their books. This post shares a variety of ways to read throughout the summer together.
