Ready to Transform Your Mindset When It Comes to Homeschooling High School?
I’m on a mission to help families with Out-of-the-Box Teens homeschool high school with peace and confidence.

Having homeschooled four of our own Out-of-the-Box Teens, four of whom graduated high school, achieved admission to their dream schools, with large scholarships and an Ivy League admission, community college, and straight to freelancing, I want to mentor other families to homeschool differently with purpose and peace.
Why Blog, She Wrote?
The name is derived from the TV show Murder, She Wrote which starred Angela Lansbury as Jessica Fletcher, a widowed subsitute English teacher turned mystery novelist.
I began blogging in 2007 to share with our families far away what was going on in our homeschool, classic, right?
But I needed a name for my blog and my husband, Dan, suggested on a dare to call it Blog, She Wrote because I’m a super fan of Murder, She Wrote and Angela Lansbury and who was going to read this thing anyway.
Well, the joke’s on him- 18 years, hundreds of thousands of pageviews, and the evolution of a blog into a business with an LLC later, here we are.
Murder, She Wrote image belongs to its rightful owner.
My name is Heather Woodie and I went from a public school science educator to homeschooling four kids in a project based, relaxed environment from start to finish.
We homeschooled our four children from pre-K through 12th, after we pulled our oldest from first grade in the second quarter.
The rest is history.
If I can leave behind convention and homeschool Out-of-the-Box Teens, meeting them where they are, so can you!
Why Did We Homeschool?
We began homeschooling in January of 2005 when our oldest child was half way through first grade. Homeschooling was not our plan from the beginning, but we quickly realized that a public school setting could not accommodate our son. You can read more about why we chose to homeschool in How Does a Public School Teacher End Up Homeschooling?
We homeschooled because we wanted our kids to learn at their own pace in a way that met their needs and helped them to thrive, not only in our homeschool, but out in the world!
