Hear from homeschooling moms like you!

Who knew homeschooling high school would be so much fun? I love Heather’s approach to planning an academically sound and inspiring high school education for my teens.

If you’re hoping to streamline and simplify the college application process, I can’t think of a better way to do it than through Homeschooling for College by Design. The Transcript Builder alone is worth the cost of the course. It’s magic!

Homeschooling High School by Design Membership not only gives you the information you need to homeschool high school well, it also provides you with the confidence you need to make it happen. I can get organized, but Heather does a great job putting my fears at ease.

Pam Barnhill, Your Morning Basket

As I see high school on the horizon with my first child, I have had lots of questions. Not the type that are easy to research like how many credits does she need, but the type that you would ask a mentor. I have desired a mentor throughout my homeschooling but my other attempts at finding one had come up lacking. Heather’s coaching through the membership began bringing peace and confidence to my homeschooling within the first month. She really cares about helping you succeed. Heather has answered my questions, but also inspired me to find my daughter a potentially amazing out of the box opportunity at a local wildlife sanctuary while she is still in middle school. Heather strikes a great balance between imparting knowledge and helping you apply that knowledge to your unique students and situation. I am so grateful I found her membership while my oldest was in 7th grade, so I have had the time to learn, ask questions, and process our decisions before high school classes begin.

Heather’s Homeschooling by Design Membership has been important to me.  I have long admired Heather’s creativity and energy, and the organization she has to accomplish in her homeschool what I want to accomplish in mine.  The live chats have been an opportunity not only to hear from her what she has prepared on topic, but to ask her directly any questions I might have.  I am also inspired by the other moms in the group.  I’m so glad the membership is available.  I am a veteran homeschooler, and my students and I appreciate the fresh ideas that Homeschooling by Design Membership brings to our days.

Robin, Veteran Homeschooling Mom

As a homeschooling mom of my first high school student, I went looking for a mentor.  I wanted someone who was not only passionate about teenagers, but who also had the ability to teach me how to trust that it was possible to build a high school experience around interest led learning.  Add in compassionate, honest, funny and a keen listener, and you have found yourself, Heather Woodie.  This is year one of high school for me (with about 12 more years to go) and I hope Heather will be with me for all of them.

– Gina, Homeschooling Mom

Heather Woodie provides homeschooling parents a rare gift – not telling you what to do, while simultaneously convincing you that you don’t have to do everything. Break free from thinking you must jump on the AP bandwagon! Release yourself from the idea that you have to test, test, and test again! Enroll in dual credit classes or don’t!

You and your student can craft a college preparation program that suits you (isn’t that why you started homeschooling in the first place?), navigate the often-complex application process, and achieve the results you want.

She wisely reminds participants to include their student in every step of the process – “This is your student’s job..” she says of creating a Common Application account. This is music to every college academic dean’s ears, as too many students enter our halls having had a parent take all the important steps, make all the significant decisions, and not, in Heather’s words, given them “tools for the next phase.”

A well-prepared college student is one who can not only read, write, and do ‘rithmetic, but who can also evaluate choices, advocate for themselves, and take initiative. The proof, as they say, is in the pudding, and Heather’s pudding is two college students enjoying their academic experience in not only two top tier colleges, but more importantly, the colleges of their dreams.

Meet Heather

I’m on a mission to help you and your Out-of-the-Box Teens homeschool high school your way with peace and confidence.

Homeschooling four of our own Out-of-the-Box teens, three of whom graduated and are thriving at their dream schools (two of them after a five year high school plan) including large scholarships, an Ivy League admission, and a local community college, I want to mentor other families to homeschool differently with purpose and peace.

I went from a public school science educator with a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Secondary Education, to homeschooling four neurodivergent kids in a project based, relaxed environment.

If I can leave behind convention and homeschool Out-of-the-Box Teens, meeting them where they are, so can you!

More Happy Moms

Being a planner by nature, and heading into my oldest’s 8th grade year, I began looking around for high school guidance. I found Homeschooling High School By Design and joined membership. Wow! The depth and breadth of Heather’s high school experience and knowledge has been an amazing resource.

The live calls/replays and being able to ask Heather questions has been the most valuable aspect for me. I now feel confident as we head into our first year of high school. We have direction and a flexible plan. Also, I have been able to see what high school CAN be…the possibilities. I am really looking forward to these years ahead.

– Jodi C, Homeschooling Mom

Heather gives feedback and Insight on how to tailor plan for your child to have success in high school and college. I feel prepared and I feel like I am giving my daughter my best effort! My membership is so valuable to me that I go back and listen if I miss a zoom meeting! Becoming a member is one of the best decisions I have ever made!

– Tanya, Homeschooling Mom

Being a member of the Homeschooling High School by Design Membership provides a safety net that helps me homeschool with confidence. I participated in Heather’s coaching group the summer before my daughter’s freshman year of high school. Planning her high school studies with the group and Heather made the task less daunting and less overwhelming. When Heather announced that she was opening an ongoing membership group the next summer, I was excited because I knew that as we progressed through the year and the rest of her high school years that we would have questions. Now I don’t have to worry about what to research or where to find answers. I know that I can ask Heather, and she can provide the advice and guidance we need.

– Crystal, Homeschooling Mom

Heather does such a great job of walking you through all of the steps for planning the high school years. I was nervous about high school, but I feel so much better with a good plan laid out in front of us!

– Jennifer Geary, Homeschooling Mom

Whether you are just beginning with a freshman student or are a seasoned homeschooler of older teens, a membership with Heather will give you the confidence and reassurance that you need. I appreciate the way that she offers step by step guidance on the entire process while not making you feel overwhelmed with information. When I am tempted with self-doubt, I value her insight and willingness to remind me that I can effectively homeschool high school.

– Kisha Rahming, Homeschooling Mom

Homeschooling high school doesn’t have to be overwhelming. The Homeschooling by Design membership program has been an invaluable resource for planning high school courses, transcripts and college applications.  Heather’s expertise with high school has helped me gain confidence in guiding my student through the process of designing a four-year plan. I appreciate the membership calls and the fantastic topics we have covered.  It is helpful to know that I can design classes that are interesting and engaging for my student and still meet high school requirements. Heather’s willingness to answer questions is also a big bonus.
