Hello to all and welcome to those of you who are new! 👋

My name is Heather Woodie and I blog at BlogSheWrote.org. I’ve been blogging since 2007 which is pretty much ancient history in the world of blogging! My blog has grown up with my children and today I write encouragement and practical ideas for homeschooling high school. 👊😊

With an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences and a graduate degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Secondary Education, I feel like I’ve found the sweet spot of writing and sharing! 💜🤍

We have two homeschool graduates who are both juniors this coming year. Our oldest is at Purdue studying Professional Writing on scholarship and our second born is at Cornell University in their Fiber Science and Apparel Design program. Both of them are living their dream! 🎉📒💻👗🧵🎨

Our high schoolers are in 12th and 10th grades this year which means I’m on deck for another college admission cycle and graduation. Woot! 🙌

I’ve loved homeschooling from the moment we began, but there is something extra special about the high school years. You get a front row seat to the launch and you get to mentor them on the way. It doesn’t get better than that! 🤍🚀

You might be nervous about homeschooling high school because it’s time to get down to business. I’m here to say, you can approach high school from outside the box just like any other time of homeschooling and the results are stunning! 🎁😊

I’d love to be your homeschooling high school mentor with encouragement, practical challenges, self-paced courses, and even a membership for those who like a mentor to hold your hand. Let’s homeschool high school with peace and confidence! It's going to be a great year!✌️

We started our 16th year of homeschooling this week! And our 9th year of homeschooling high school. 😍

Tuesday we had a book party featuring some of the books on tap. Thanks @heathernerdylittlebirdie for the inspiration! 👊

This year we're homeschooling high school with a graduating senior and a sophomore. Woot! 🎉🎈

Guest appearance by the in house college junior, who baked for me and rescued her favorite quote from being forgotten on the printer (and is still registering for classes which begin next week). 🤍💜

We needed our start to be set apart this year and it was a success! ✅

Happy first day of classes to our first born and first homeschool graduate! 👊

Happy facts include:

✅ It's his junior year at Purdue! What?!
✅ He got to return to campus after five months.
✅ He's upgraded to a campus apartment this year.
✅ The apartment has its own laundry machines.
✅ Someone else will still clean his private bathroom. The residential bathroom situation alone is a reason to go to Purdue.
✅ He has one class and one lab section in person and all of his classes are fun ones!
✅ He adores the Purdue honors college community.
