Art Supplies for the Nature Artist
Sketch Pencil Set– Different hardness pencils provide varying effects. My nature journaler prefers to draw first then use watercolors on her drawings. Also, you never know which pencil the artist will prefer.
Kneadable Eraser– These make removing pencil marks easy and they don’t leave eraser crumbs behind.
Watercolor Paints– We like tube water colors the best. They are easy to use if you haven’t before and they give you a lot of versatility with their deep pigments.
Palette– One with multiple wells and mixing areas.
Toned Paper– for use on special projects
White Charcoal– This is fun to use on colored paper to make drawings.
Paint Brushes– We prefer good quality, open stock brushes from local stores, but you can get a variety of nice brushes any way you’d like.
Micron Pen Set– The various sized points are useful in different applications. We use them for all sorts of art projects.
Field Supplies for the Nature Artist
Watercolor Travel Set– Vibrant colors in this compact set has been so easy to travel with.
Water Brushes– These are convenient for painting on the go because the water is stored in the handle of the brush. Very handy while sketching and painting in the field.
Art Journal– Ones with thick cardboard covers make it easy to work on site.
Sling Pack– The over the shoulder smaller packs make it easy to travel with your supplies and still get the back on and off easily. A spot for a water bottle is a must!
