There’s no better place to find lots of supporters for homeschooling than at a homeschool convention and GHC provides a lot of wonderful speakers with a variety of philosophies and expertise to share. Check out the tips for finding encouragement during a homeschool convention.

Have a homeschooling hero you want to see? Is there a specific issue you want to address in your homeschool? Matt Walsh, Heidi St. John, and many others will be there to encourage you. Check out the speaker list and start making a plan!

Need some levity? You can add on a extra and enjoy a comedian. Teens can enjoy the teen track- Real Faith for the Real World. There’s even a Children’s Track for younger kids which I hear fills up fast. There’s something engaging going on for the whole family at a GHC!

  1. Thanks to your give away for the GHC I attended in SC!!! Speakers that were new to me and now on my recommending list — all parenting seminars by Kirk Martin and I heard Assessment that Blesses by Andrew Kern of Circe Institute for Pursuit of Wisdom and Virture (he has an older version of that seminar that is almost as good as current one and it is available free on website). I also recommend Dr. Kathy Koch of Celebrate Kids–I have also heard her at Hearts at Home Nat’l Conference and always am encouraged and filled with practical truths. Susan Kemmerer’s Homeschooling Boys talk was fun too. If you attend the conference you can buy the seminars–since my husband couldn’t attend I stocked up on mp3s:)

  2. Heather that is so exciting! Thank you for commenting and letting me know you were able to attend!
I love Kathy Koch…so many wonderful ways to enjoy our children and some really practical advice on how to see them in new ways- even their faults. I’m so glad you were so encouraged!
